Herman Cain: Impeach Obama
Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain suggested that impeaching President Barack Obama "would be a great thing to do" on a conference call with bloggers on Tuesday night, Politico reports.
The former CEO of Godfather's Pizza predicted, however, that achieving such a goal would likely prove easier said than done.
"Because the Senate is controlled by Democrats we would never be able to get the Senate first to take up that action, because they simply don’t care what the American public thinks," he said. "They would protect him and they wouldn’t even bring it up," Cain said, citing the administration's position on the Defense of Marriage Act as an impeachable offense."
When thinking about the cast of characters offered up as credible by the Tea Party/GOP - Michelle Bachman (winner of the Iowa Straw Poll), Sarah Palin, Texas governor Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich et al - I can only think about the Circus Freak Side-Show coming to town.
As Blue Magic famously sang:
Hurry, hurry, step right up
See the sideshow in town for only fifty cents
Step right up, hurry, hurry before the show begins, my friends
Stand in line, get your tickets, I hope you will attend
It'll only cost you fifty cents to see
What life has done to those like you and me
It's more exciting than a one man band
The saddest little show in all the land
So let the sideshow begin (Hurry, hurry)
Hurry, hurry, step right on in
Can't afford to pass it by
Guaranteed to make you cry
Let the sideshow begin
Hurry, hurry, step right on in
Can't afford to pass it by
Guaranteed to make you cry
And BTW, can someone explain to Citizen Cain, it's the House of Representatives - currently controlled by Tea Party/GOP - that impeaches the president and not the Senate.

ReplyDeleteLOL...my sentiments exactly.
Actually, I'm hoping either Bachmann or Perry get the GOP nomination because they are both far right christian fundies which would make for an easy Obama victory.
As far a Herman Munster...dude just needs to pack up and go home like his buddy Tim Palenty. His pole numbers are atrocious and at some point reality has to set in for him. I truly believe he's just hanging around now for the free publicity.
..
Herman Cain's voice is very irritating. I hate to hear him talk...so when he comes on I turn the channel or turn the volume down. .
ReplyDeleteAnd I still say why is Mr.Cain wasting his time and money bc he knows "D" well that neither the Republicans or anyone else is going to nominate him for president!
ReplyDelete@This clown Cain is a "fish out of water". He should read the recent studies on the origins of the Tea Party. They are against immigrants and blacks in particular. That is there basic charter. This is a black man who has joined the KKK. Whatever his views are. He would probably do better to run as an Independent. These Tea Partiers are lower than terriorist on the poll of respectability
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% with all the comments thus far...Mr. Cain is no more than an opportunist and he lacks integrity. He shrewdly has recognized that there is a lucrative career path for any person of color that is willing to echo the sentiments of racist whites
ReplyDeleteHerman Cain is a joke and allowing himself to used by the Republican Party/Tea Baggers.
ReplyDeleteThe Republican Party/Tea Baggers honestly think that they can replace Barack Obama with any Black man, just like they thought women would vote Sarah Palin, as a replacement for Hillary Clinton. Sarah Palin wasnt/isnt in the same league as Hillary Clinton and Herman Cain isnt in the same league as Barack Obama.
.
You think Herman's just doing this to stay "revelant" in the face of those awful poll numbers and the fact that his 15 minutes on the nominee campaign trail are just about over? I do.
ReplyDeleteBesides, Cain's the designated black mouthpiece and water-carrier for what the GOP really wants to say about Obama. Impeach him? You betcha. And since Cain's saying it, no one can get angry with him unless they want the "race card" pulled out like a cop's badge.
