It's Time For Obama To Become The 'Angry Black Man'

President Obama has mastered many subtleties, both non-verbal and verbal, on how to not be perceived as threatening to white America -- the Angry Black Man.

Let's keep it real, if not for this mastery, he would have never achieved the highest office in the land. As president, he had one minor slip up -- the Henry Gates vs Cambridge police confrontation --after the following comment the backlash was immediate:

Well, I should say at the outset that Skip Gates is a friend, so I may be a little biased here. I don't know all the facts. What's been reported, though, is that the guy forgot his keys. He jimmied his way to get into the house. There was a report called into the police station that there might be a burglary taking place. so far so good. Right? I mean, if I was trying to jigger in -- well, I guess this is my house now so it probably wouldn't happen.

Let's say my old house in Chicago... here I'd get shot. But so far so good. They're reporting, the police are doing what they should. There's a call. They go investigate what happens. My understanding is at that point Professor Gates is already in his house. The police officer comes in. I'm sure there's some exchange of words but my understanding is that Professor Gates then shows his I.D. to show that this is his house. And at that point he gets arrested for disorderly conduct, charges which are later dropped.

Now, I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts what role race played in that, but I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry. Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. And that's just a fact. source

Hide the woman and children, we got an angry black man in the White House

To patch things up: Obama, Biden, Skip and the man in blue had a photo friendly discussion over beer -- The Beer Summit. Cheers to all and President Obama demonstrably reassured America that he is not the Angry Black boogie man. This incident came at the most inopportune time -- during the heated Health Care debate -- and cost him a great deal of political capital. For Obama: he vowed to never fall in that trap again.

Currently, many have cited Obama's lack of aggression against the lying a$$ Romney during the first debate was because -- once again -- he feared being perceived as an Angry Black Man. Read the following article:

Most likely, Romney’s logic is that if white independent voters are given a choice between a black man and a white man with the same ideas, the white voters will choose the white man, because he makes them feel more “comfortable.” It’s a very cynical way of thinking that could actually help Mitt Romney win this election.

Surely, Obama’s campaign strategists know this. So why did the President avoid a heavy counter-attack of Mitt Romney? A lot of black people in social media are saying it’s because the President has to avoid looking like an angry black man. No one (and by no one, they mean white people) wants the specter of a black man threatening or sassing the good, smart white businessman who only wants what’s best for us. Sigh. read entire article

In all due respect, President Obama -- you do not have to morph into Malcolm X -- in the next debate I urged you to channel your inner John Shaft. As brother Issac Hayes stated: You see this cat Shaft is one bad mother --- (Shut your mouth).

  1. He will screw it up , watch and learn

  2. I wouldn't bet on it either...even if I had house money. Yet in still, he still has to bring his professorial, buttoned down and Ivy League A game to the next debate!
