The Confederate march on Washington.
For the last 5 years they tried to, well, let's say, semi-hide it -- although they did not do a good job.
Outside of the occasional finger-in-the-face; the "you lie" outburst; the birther movement; and, the federal judge's racist anti-Obama email (to name a few):
The GOP/TP and friends wanted all of us to believe their anger and rage was strictly about policy and not remotely about race.
We know better. We have seen the inside of that closet before. And we are fully cognizant of the coded language.
Oh, yes, they worked overtime trying to convince us that we were the paranoid ones that detected racism in any and all things anti-Obama. Some even created sarcastic YouTube videos mocking liberals and progressives for playing the race card every time someone criticizes the president: For example, This is Bob, Bob is a racist.
These videos show an earnest conservative who has been "unfairly" labeled a racist because he has the fortitude to disagree with the liberal agenda and President Obama. As if only this even tone opposition to an Obama policy is why the motives of the GOP/TP are suspect.
Poor Bob, poor FOX, poor Tea Party folks, poor Sarah Palin, poor Joe the Plumber, poor Rush Limbaugh and company: All these true blue Americans have been unfairly smeared by the MSM or as Palin says, "The Lame Street Media."
You might have had some folks fooled until this latest stunt: The Confederate March on Washington.
And they marched in full regalia -- Confederate flag and rebel yell -- finally, boldly, showing their true colors.
Here's some highlights (or low lights)
A Tea Party leader claimed the country is “ruled by a president who bows down to Allah” at a rally at the World War II memorial on Sunday.
Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber re-blogged (originally blogged by a black conservative Uncle Clarence Thomas type):
'Wanting A White Republican President Doesn't Make You Racist,' It 'Makes You American'
Larry Klayman, founder of Tea Party group Freedom watch, told the crowd that President Obama does not represent “We the people” in the Constitution.
“I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up,” Klayman told the crowd of several hundred protesters and veterans who tore down barricades at the World War II and Lincoln memorials.

And this crazy uncle-in-the attic talk went on and on...
No Bob it's not your objection to President Obama's policies that make you a racist, it's your crazy neo-confederate rants, deliberate lies and distortions and your race bating taunts that make you a racist!
And I hope, out of step with the rest of America.
Nothing but truth. But they won't hear it.
ReplyDelete@Shady Grady...hopefully this is the proverbial "jump the shark" moment for the GOP/TP. But alas, too many Americans have a short memory.
