Joe the Plumber: ‘Your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights’

Samuel Joe the Plumber Wurzelbacher --Tea Party hero -- to the families of the kids killed by Elliot Rodgers:

‘Your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights’

And he added:

“Mr. Martinez and anyone calling for more restrictions on American’s rights need to back off and stop playing into the hands of the folks who merely capitalize on these horrific events for their own political ends,” Wurzelbacher wrote.

“We still have the Right to Bear Arms and I intend to continue to speak out for that right, and against those who would restrict it — even in the face of this horrible incident by this sad and insane individual,” he wrote.

While Wurzelbacher expressed sympathy for the families of those murdered by unhinged college student Elliot Rodger, he added, “any feelings you have toward my rights being taken away from me, lose those.”Read more:

Talk about impeccable timing...

May these cruel, insensitive and callous  words -- couldn't he wait until at least after the funeral to start his rant -- spark and re-galvanize the sensible gun control movement.

Hopefully, for the sanity of our country, parents of murdered children can unite the way Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) came together to fight for sensible drunk driving laws. These mothers were not neo-Victorians that wanted a re-instatement of Prohibition.

They did not have an agenda to take away adults' right to consume and purchase alcohol. Of course not, these women and supporters -- many suffered family fatalities because of drunk drivers -- wanted our elected representatives to enact commonsense anti-drunk driving laws.

Laws designed to protect innocent victims, under-aged drinkers and the drunk drivers themselves.

Presently, the clock has already chimed for Americans to get MADD about guns in the hands of criminals, mentally disturbed, urban terrorists, drug dealers and domestic abusers.

Similarly to MADD, we do not want gun prohibition. We want gun common sense. We want to take WMD, or should I say, Weapons of Mass Destructions (hey George W don't look in Iraq, look in your own backyard) out the hands of certifiable nuts, kooks, socia/psychopaths (think Aaron Hernandez).

Just call us "Families Against Mass Shootings."

And, hell no Joe, our rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is light years more supreme than a right of a mentally disturbed person owning WMD.
