Ann Coulter: AMERICA'S FAVORITE NATIONAL PASTIME: HATING SOCCER

Most sane people know that Senorita Ann Coulter craves attention -- negative or positive doesn't matter -- notoriety sells books and brings invitations to speak.

This is her con. She knows the game.

If she can stir up the Mississippi gene in many Americans -- wherever they reside -- she can continue to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

She works OT to remain in the game. Her MO: lobbing offensive verbal Molotov Cocktails. Hate speech is her bread and butter. She relishes her ability to rile up folks, particularly la gente de izquierda (liberals).

Her cultural value is solely relegated to being a conservative Howard Stern type. Nada mas.

Hence, when la Reina de Enojado (queen of mean) offered her severely uninformed opinion on soccer/futbol I was more blasé (whatever) than outraged. In her own words:

I've held off on writing about soccer for a decade -- or about the length of the average soccer game -- so as not to offend anyone. But enough is enough. Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nation's moral decay.

Liberal moms like soccer because it's a sport in which athletic talent finds so little expression that girls can play with boys. No serious sport is co-ed, even at the kindergarten level.

If more "Americans" are watching soccer today, it's only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration law.

I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer. One can only hope that, in addition to learning English, these new Americans will drop their soccer fetish with time.

Why not just ignore her ignorance?

The only reason to address Crazy Ann, her craziness exemplifies the toxic political environment confronting and dividing our country.

Crazy Ann is one of the faces of the mainstream Tea Party/GOP. And, as we know, in GOP land, the severely crazy are fighting to over-throw the slightly less crazy.

I shudder to think, one day this check will be cashed.
