Indubitably, this is more news Fox News would prefer to lose.
The reality of a growingly more robust USA economy, increased consumer confidence, lowest unemployment (230,000 new jobs a month) since W crashed our economy does not fit the Fox narrative.
And now this announcement:
After suffering the sharpest contraction since the recession ended, the U.S. economy rebounded this spring, growing at a solid 4 percent annual rate, according to new government data released Wednesday.
Robust consumer spending helped drive the expansion during the second quarter, while businesses rebuilt their inventories. U.S. exports spiked, helping to offset a jump in imports. State and local governments also increased their spending after cutting back during the first quarter. The growth rate beat analysts’ expectations and helped bolster hopes that the country’s long-simmering economic recovery is becoming self-sustaining. source
As Mark (last name not giving) succinctly commented in the NY Times:
Job 1 for Republicans -- after having failed in their previous Job 1 to limit President Obama to one term -- is to obstruct President Obama in every way possible, with special emphasis on economic recovery. Economic recovery was supposed to be caped-crusader Mitt Romney's heroic rescue.
And recovery from what, need we be reminded? From the Great Recession of the last Republican Administration, that's what.
Economic recovery would be even further along than it is had Republicans worked more flexibly with the President rather than full-time on a fully obstructionist agenda.
Oh, back to Fox.
Their poster boy for Stand-Your -Ground and GOP/Tea Party/NRA hero, George Zimmerman, is back in the news. Apparently, GZ left his bat cave or should we say his bat-shit crazy cave in his self-deputized role of serve and protect.
George Zimmerman is back in the news, once again in his role as a wannabe security officer.
Zimmerman, the ex-neighborhood watch volunteer acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was spotted by police just after midnight Monday sitting in his pickup with his dog behind a motorcycle and gun shop, Pompano Pat’s, in DeLand, Fla., according to news reports.
Zimmerman told police, who questioned him, that he had permission from the owner, Pat Johnson, to work night security following a recent burglary, the Associated Press reported. But Tuesday, store manager Sam Porter said he had not been hired to do anything of the kind. read entire article
