Trump and his sh**whole worldview

Trump: The anti-Lincoln
As reported by Washington Post:

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”

Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti.

He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met Wednesday.

At this point, it is safe to say, our president -- or the Klan's president -- is unequivocally a true blue white supremacist.

Fact: His presidential campaign, from the get-go, intentionally focused on appealing to base elements of his base -- when his opponents went high, he went low, lower and lowest -- like a snake slithering around the bushes looking for prey. He announced his candidacy by calling Mexican immigrants "drug dealers, criminals and rapist."

Great presidents and leaders are remembered, celebrated and revered for espousing soaring rhetoric with the intent of inspiring our better angels to pursue a higher path.

Trump, from the same NYC borough of fictional Archie Bunker, uses his platform, his words, his tweets, his speeches to promote hate, fear, division and chaos. Since he is void of an uplifting and inclusive vision, he relies on stoking the primal id of white males to maintain power.

But Trump's racist quote brings to mind what Abraham Lincoln famously stated:

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

One important note: Not only is Trump very offensive but his stereotype is very wrong. African immigrants are among the most educated and successful groups in American society.

Nigerian Americans have long been known for their community’s intense cultural emphasis on education, and now an analysis of Census data coupled with several local surveys shows that Nigerians don’t just value education, but surpass all other U.S. ethnic groups when it comes to obtaining degrees.
