You would have to be living in a cave to not have heard about the political whooping received by President Obama and the Congressional Democrats. The GOP reclaimed the majority in the House and almost gained control of the Senate.
Many pundits are asking who is the blame or just flat out blaming Obama for this voter repudiation. However, my perspective or take on this recent turn of events (one that I share with my many progressive friends and associates) is quite different.
After two years of passing historic legislation (for the middle-class) on Health Care Reform, Stimulus Package, Wall Street Reform; and, saving the American car industry as well as our economy from a Great Depression - I believed that confidence in President Obama would be soaring.
I mistakenly thought middle America would reward the Democrats and Obama for reversing eight years of Bush/Cheney failures. My commonsense lead me to take for granted that the average American citizens understood we would not reap overnight the benefits from programs and legislation championed by Obama and the Dems.
My bad...I stand corrected.
