Fox News: The Olympics "Darker, Gayer and Different"

Fox News Executive Editor John Moody writes:

Unless it’s changed overnight, the motto of the Olympics, since 1894, has been ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger.’ It appears the U.S. Olympic Committee would like to change that to ‘Darker, Gayer, Different.

Yes the column was eventually deleted from their website after an uproar:

But the mere fact that Moody -- Executive VP at Fox News -- felt compelled to write this hateful dribble demonstrates the low standards of common decency in the era of Trump.

In Trump season, far too many right-wing figures -- politicians, pundits and journalists -- feel liberated to express their disgust, disdain, fear and hatred of American diversity. Not so long ago, these extreme views were relegated to the margins of polite society.

However, Moody and his ilk are no longer outliers: quite the opposite, they have been normalized in the Trump lead GOP.  His views have been mainstreamed into the core of the GOP.  Recently, Iowa congressman Steve King remarked that "diversity is not our strength." And Breitbart called out Fox for caving to leftist by removing the article.

The bottom line or the nitty gritty -- as they used to say back in the day -- is that diversity represents a threat to white male dominance: it launches a dagger into the myth of white supremacy. Diversity demonstrates that when given a level playing field, under-represented communities can not only compete, they can soar to excellence.

Folks like John Moody are remarkably salty and moody when this happens.
