GOP: In Ronald Reagan we trust.
The romance between RR and the GOP is still burning strong; perhaps, after 3o years of good ole fashion myth building, the heart has grown fonder with time.
Yet in still, the GOP establishment and their base are still in the hunt for the new RR.

Adios, Señor Trump!
Donald Trump -- cue the Celebrity Apprentice drum roll and suspense music -- you are fired.
Yes, the king of bluster received his walking papers from NBC.
In a strong repudiation for his racist and slanderous comments on the country of Mexico, Mexican immigrants and other immigrants of Central American, the Donald was shown the exit.
NBC is ending its long relationship with Donald Trump in the wake of the presidential hopeful’s recent comments about Mexican immigrants.
NBC said it will no longer carry the Trump-produced Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Nor will he return to the long-running reality show “The Celebrity Apprentice” as host, a role Trump already said he would give up because of his presidential bid.
“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump,” NBC said in a statement. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.” source

The hate that hate produced
Pastor Clementa Pinckney |
These are the words of that wretched soul that killed nine blacks praying in bible study at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC.
Overt racism is back in season
After praying with them, he calmly took out his weapon of choice -- Glock 45 -- and completed his murderous rampage. His unspeakable actions has many people not Muslim, African-American, Asian or Latino asking: How could this happen? or Where did he learn all of this hate?
What is inconceivable to some Americans is very blatantly obvious to many. A virulent racist virus has re-infected many Americans already suffering from a less potent form of this disease. Case in point, just read an excerpt of Donald Trump's announcement to run for president:
"They (Mexico) are not our friend, believe me...The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems...When Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. They are not sending you. They are sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us. They are bringing drugs and they are bringing crime, and they're rapists." Donald J Trump
While he was rightly mocked and ridiculed by many, Trump received no backlash from Republicans, Tea Party folks, conservatives, hate radio or Fox Nation. Quite the contrary, he was enthusiastically welcomed as a guest on Fox by Bill O'Reilly to spew more hate speech.
The genesis of the Tea Party, as we know it today, was rooted in the election of the first non-white president. Their rhetoric fanned the flames of the dormant racism embedded in many Americans by pandering to their most primal fear -- the ascent of non-white people in the world.
For heaven's sake, TP favorite Michele Bachman practically compares President Obama to the anti-Christ (as has many folks of her ilk).
Former Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann recently declared that the end is near – and it’s all thanks to President Barack Obama.
“We need to realize how close this clock is to getting towards the midnight hour,” the Republican firebrand and 2012 presidential candidate told radio host Jan Markell of the end of days. “The events have picked up such a pace and are going to continue it’s just like the Bible forewarned, in the last days it will be like the beginning of birth pangs. In my opinion, we are far beyond the beginning of birth pangs.” source
This constant bombardment of dehumanizing hate triggers (pun attended) the George Zimmermans, Officer Billy Bobs and random serial killers into lethal action against unarmed men and women of color.

Louis Farrakhan Interview at The Breakfast Club Power 105.1
Often, the idiot box (TV), humdrum radio and now surfing the internet can involve viewing countless of substance void content.
Basically junk food for the mind.
There is little or nothing that cultivates the mind in our Pop culture.
But ever now and again, something fresh cracks through this wasteland and provides material worthy of the time invested.
This unedited interview of Minister Louis Farrakhan by the Breakfast Club falls into that category (I must say, they continue to step up to the plate by promoting more and more folks with positive messages).
As Cody Edwin expressed in the comment section, Farrakhan themes includes:
1- understand social engineering
2- we need more builders
3- invest in real estate
4- MLK's last speech was not I have a dream of 1963

HGP highlights: Serena Williams -- Woman of Distinction
This June, an incredible mile-stone was achieved by Serena Williams: she captured her 20th Tennis Major championship.
While still 2 shy of record holder Steffi Graff, Serena, age 33, has truly emerged as the Michael Jordan of her sport -- killer instinct included.
And Still I Rise...
The uniquely insane and phenomenal aspect is that Serena (and sister Venus) thrived and over-achieved in a high brow, hoity toity elitist environment. The William's family journey included honing their world class skill set in Compton -- yea, South Central La.
This clash of cultures was/is not always warmly received: taunts, racial epithets, pejorative slights endured by Serena, Venus and father Richard -- from tennis fans and press -- stirs the memory of Jackie Robinson.
On the other hand, not to diminish his out-of-this word achievement, MJ reached the NBA Mount Rushmore in a sport dominated by men of color; men that often master the sport on gritty urban playgrounds.
We honor Serena -- still young and on fire -- by serenading her with a beautiful Maya Angelou poem.
Sidebar: The I'm not cute line does not apply to our fine sister Serena.

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.

Ted Cruz:" I was against it before I needed it."
Senator Jim Kerry: "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it."
Ah, the political art of the flip-flop.:
A "flip-flop" (used mostly in the United States), U-turn (used in the United Kingdom, Ireland), or backflip (used in Australia and New Zealand) is a sudden real or apparent change of policy or opinion by a public official, sometimes while trying to claim that both positions are consistent with each other. Often it will occur during the period prior to or following an election in order to maximize the candidate's popularity. source
George Herbert Bush: "Read my lips, no new taxes."
Poor George...
Even though his broken pledge helped fuel an American economic boon, he was (and will be) forever hammered by GOP tax fundamentalist -- gotta protect their only clients the one percenters --for breaking their 11th commandment.
This brings us to the Texas senator and presidential candidate Ted Wacko Bird Cruz.
Instead of the traditional flip-flop he seems to prefer the blackflip version:
"I was against it before I needed it"
Yes, his self declared mission in life was to destroy and repeal Obamacare. Until he and his family needed it.
And now this bird of a strange feather has found another heart felt political virtue to blackflip out of:
Big government relief and support for extreme natural disasters.
Ted Cruz, the same Tea Party Senator that voted against aid for victims of Hurricane Sandy because it was “wasteful“, shows off his astonishing hypocrisy by announcing that he will work with Democrats to “stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations.
It turns out that Texas is the biggest recipient of federal disaster relief money in the country, as 46 counties are in a state of emergency. For all the railing that Ted Cruz does against “big government” and “wasteful spending”, he sure is quick to change his tune.
The disaster in Texas is an absolute tragedy, but it’s equally appalling to see Cruz flip-flop after attempting to deny critical disaster relief to other Americans for partisan brownie points. This is a real recurring theme with Republicans, who lack the empathy and compassion to spend federal money on disaster relief for other Americans but clamor for it when bad times hit their own states.
Isn't this the same Texas that threatened to secede from the Union; and deployed State Guard to stave off Obama takeover.
Let the clown car motorcade rev up...

Tale of two cities: Baltimore and Waco
You may or may not of heard, two motor cycle gangs went tragically HAM at this "family style" ( more like Hooters meets Denny's to me) restaurant or bar. Leaving in wake:
Preliminary autopsy reports released Tuesday by the McLennan County Justice of the Peace revealed all nine men killed in biker-gang shooting at a Twin Peaks in Waco died from gunshot wounds. They ranged in age from 27 to 65. All of them died of gunshot wounds.
Waco police initially estimated that investigators recovered more than 1,000 weapons from the restaurant. Police revised that number Wednesday afternoon, saying their count had reached 318 weapons, including more than 100 handguns and more than 100 knives. cnn.com
Yeah, the story saw some big time headlines. All the network big boys -- CNN, MSNBC, Fox etc. -- gave the story some Breaking News attention. And as more details unfold from this carnage, the story appears to have legs.
But to be perfectly honest, the coverage is scant compared to the live in you face, wall-to-wall sensationalized coverage of B-More.
The deficiency in news intensity and sensationalism is even more shocking when you factor in these were not very young adults (as in Baltimore) these were grown ass men, life long outlaws and reputed drug dealing thugs...
What is missing from this picture:
In fact, the thug word is conspicuously missing in the coverage. The outrage from concerned citizens was, for the most part, AWOL.. As yet, no presidential statement from the Big O calling these criminals thugs.
I am still waiting for the obligatory shouting -- from the usually loud talking heads -- about decades of rural white broken homes, fatherless homes, out-of-wedlock single mothers, domestic violence, wide-spread Meth usage, and rampant alcohol abuse...the numbers are there.
Here's another story that fell somewhat under-the-radar: Watch this deadly brawl between homeless family and police in a Walmart parking lot.
Enuff said, you get the picture. You can draw the obvious conclusion to WHY.
But the biggest issue is not the back and forth volley on which community, ethnic group or race has higher levels of dysfunctional behavior; the main political, social and economic issue is the decimation of the American middle and working class families and the fall out from this phenomenon.

Larry Wilmore on the Bush family Afirmative Action #notanotherbushinthetrees
Speaking about W, Lil Baby Bro Jeb tells us big bro is his Middle-East adviser:
"What you need to know is that who I listen to when I need advice on the Middle East is George W. Bush."
Did he really say that out loud, for all of us to hear?
Isn't that like the free throw challenged Dwight Howard seeking free throw consultation from Shaq...?
Come on Jeb, the trail of misery W left behind in the region is historically epic.
News Flash: Your own brother followed Tricky Dick Jr. (Cheney) and disregarded the sage advise warning him about the perils of invading Iraq by then Secretary of State Colin Powell:
In his advice to President George W. Bush before the Iraq invasion, Powell warned the president of the Pottery Barn rule: you break it, you own it. The United States would be responsible, Powell implied, for whatever wreckage the military incurred in its headlong dash to unseat Saddam Hussein. source
These latest Jeb version of Bushisms (definition: beyond the pale dumb-ass Bush family quotes) reminds me of the all time best family quote via Big Mamma Bush:
"We've had enough Bushes' in White House" source
Allow me to add, I strongly concur and let's put a stop to the Bush Family Affirmative Action Plan!

Charlamagne the god: Real Estate Means More to Trump Than Black Lives
To my great surprise and delight:
Charlamagne the God, without the slightest equivocation, defended the humanity of black citizens suffering excessive abuse from the Gestopos in uniforms that occupy black communities.
CTG, protégé of the original NYC radio Diva Wendy Williams , is mostly known as a chatty patty/shock jock than informed social commenter.
I, personally, have found the brother silly, crude, funny, entertaining, immature but, always very witty and quick on his feet.
The success of the 105.3 Breakfast Morning Club has given him an enormous audience and ability to move the conversation. In other words, more content than cartoon.
In the below video, CTG switches from his role of interviewer to interviewee on VLAD TV -- check out this interesting exchange:

New England Patriots: A stained legacy filled with cheating scandals
Brady/Belichick damaged goods |
The NFL has suspended New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady for four games without pay in relation to the "Deflategate" incident in which the team was found to have used underinflated footballs for an advantage in the playoffs.
The Patriots were also fined $1 million and will forfeit its first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft, the league announced Monday. source

NFL independent investigation: "Tom Brady and Pats most likely cheated (again)"
Ted Wells' investigation into the possibility that the New England Patriots were involved in deflating footballs for the AFC championship game has found that it's more likely than not some of the Patriots were guilty.
"Based on the evidence developed in connection with the investigation and summarized in this Report, we have concluded that it is more probable than not that New England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the NFL Playing Rules and were involved in a deliberate attempt to circumvent those rules," the report, released Wednesday, said.

Baltimore: "Burn Baby Burn"
One tweet hit it dead on, to paraphrase: Our country is stuck in a lose-lose "wash" cycle between the police and black citizens they patrol.
Kill, mourn, march, repeat...
And, in some places like Furguson and Bmore, add burn baby burn after the futility of peaceful marches.
And by burn we mean throwing a lawless temper tantrum and asking the Verizon question: can you hear me now?

Hidden History of The Nile - Religious Evolution & The Holy Trinity
I recently had another disturbing conversation regarding Africa with a sister of color.
This relatively young sister's comments on the motherland were consistent with the Africa of western media...fill in the negative stereotype.
Needless to say, I shared with her articles, images and videos on my website of an Africa rarely depicted in the American press. The response from her was telling:
"This is Africa? Wow, really? I have to do more of my own research"
I must add. If the western press continues to collectively present a distorted image of African-American life on a daily basis, we have to recognize, likewise, this same bias is embedded in their reporting of Africa.
The images support the mentality that sustains an international status quo or caste system most economically, politically, culturally and socially friendly to people of European descent.
But once again, I want to share another video that shatters many of our preconceived beliefs. This is an insightful video of the African Traditional Religion's (ATR) contribution and presence in Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
Many of the beliefs, ritual traditions, storylines, celebrations and practices are rooted in ATR.

The boys in blue: This is what we do.
When watching the disturbingly explicit snuff film, the most incredulous sequence to me is how casual and matter-fact does this person -- with a uniform, badge and gun -- behave when he decides to execute Walter Scott by shooting him in the back -- an unarmed suspect fleeing the scene.
His demeanor suggests: "This is what I do...on a regular."
And then this person -- with a uniform, badge and gun -- just calmly saunters over his kill, handcuffs a dead body and runs with all deliberate speed to retrieve an object (stun gun?) which he plants next to the motionless body.
His demeanor suggests: "This is what I do...on a regular."

Cruz control: The Tea Party's main man of contradictions
It's not what I do, it's what I say! |
For Starters...
The TP folks, with the help of Fox news, created the birther movement -- challenging the citizenship of our supposedly Kenyan born President Obama and by extension de-legitimizing his presidency -- are now the same "Cruz for President" enthusiastic supporters.
Problem is...

Mansa Musa: The Golden Days of West Africa
Here are two more excellent, informative videos on the civilizations of Western Africa during the middle-ages.
Both videos provide a more accurate depiction of Sub-Sahara Africa than most of us learned in our World history classes in public schools.
We truly live in an emerging Golden Age for Africa -- 7 out of 10 of the world's fastest growing economies are in the Motherland -- as such even African history has seen a rise in new scholarship.
This new scholarship -- new for western scholars as authors like Chancellor Williams, Ivan Van Sertima, John Henrik Clarke taught this history for decades -- is effectively dispelling lies, myths and distortions; hence, they are enlightening the world about Africa's glorious past.

History: What's past is prologue.
The phrase means that history influences and sets the context for the present. The quotation is engraved on the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.[1]
As the old adage states:
If I had a dollar for every time I have been queried about where does my passion for history come from, well, ostensibly, I would be materially wealthy.
By a vast majority, I am unequivocally informed that history is BORING.
I get it

President Obama Selma Speech: "More Bridges To Be Crossesd"
We are storytellers, writers, poets, artists who abhor unfairness, and despise hypocrisy, and give voice to the voiceless, and tell truths that need to be told….
That’s what America is. Not stock photos or airbrushed history, or feeble attempts to define some of us as more American than others

Let America be America Again by Langston Hughes
Let America be America Again
Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.
(America never was America to me.)
Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed--
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.
(It never was America to me.)
O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.
(There's never been equality for me,
Nor freedom in this "homeland of the free.")
Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark?
And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?
I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart,
I am the Negro bearing slavery's scars.
I am the red man driven from the land,
I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seek--
And finding only the same old stupid plan
Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.
I am the young man, full of strength and hope,
Tangled in that ancient endless chain
Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land!
Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need!
Of work the men! Of take the pay!
Of owning everything for one's own greed!
I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil.
I am the worker sold to the machine.
I am the Negro, servant to you all.
I am the people, humble, hungry, mean--
Hungry yet today despite the dream.
Beaten yet today--O, Pioneers!
I am the man who never got ahead,
The poorest worker bartered through the years.
Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That's made America the land it has become.
O, I'm the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home--
For I'm the one who left dark Ireland's shore,
And Poland's plain, and England's grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa's strand I came
To build a "homeland of the free."
The free?
Who said the free? Not me?
Surely not me? The millions on relief today?
The millions shot down when we strike?
The millions who have nothing for our pay?
For all the dreams we've dreamed
And all the songs we've sung
And all the hopes we've held
And all the flags we've hung,
The millions who have nothing for our pay--
Except the dream that's almost dead today.
O, let America be America again--
The land that never has been yet--
And yet must be--the land where every man is free.
The land that's mine--the poor man's, Indian's, Negro's, ME--
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.
Sure, call me any ugly name you choose--
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
America!
O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath--
America will be!
Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain--
All, all the stretch of these great green states--
And make America again!
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

From frontier to emerging market – Kenya’s economic rise
Nairobi business district |
But is this all Kenya puts on the plate?
The answer is a definitive “no”.
Bibi the big speech: "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran"
His topic -- to paraphrase -- "Iran is the greatest threat to world stability; war, bombing and destruction are the only answers."
Ok, ok. He didn't verbatim state the above text, but what is one to infer?
“I’ve come here today to tell you we don’t have to bet the security of the world on the hope that Iran will change for the better. We don’t have to gamble with our future and with our children’s future."
The answer is, as John McCain once gleefully sang: Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran. What other conclusions can be drawn from Netanyahu? He tells us negotiations will not work, sanctions will not work forever, engagement will fail. So, what else can be on the table? Passive observation?
I don't think so. War is the subterfuge of the speech.
You may recall, Bibi once told congress back in 2002 that Saddam was the world's biggest threat and regime change was the only answer.
And today the United States must destroy the same regime because a nuclear-armed Saddam will place the security of our entire world at risk. And make no mistake about it — if and once Saddam has nuclear weapons, it is only a matter of time before those weapons will be used.
Two decades ago, it was possible to thwart Saddam’s nuclear ambitions by bombing a single installation. But today, nothing less than dismantling his regime will do, because Saddam’s nuclear program has fundamentally changed in those two decades. He no longer needs one large reactor to produce the deadly material necessary for atomic bombs. He can produce it in centrifuges the size of washing machines that can be hidden throughout the country. And I want to remind you that Iraq is a very big country. It is not the size of Monte Carlo. It is a big country. And I believe that even free and unfettered inspections will not uncover these portable manufacturing sites of death. source
Sidebar: Don't these folks realize we now live in the digital age and we can google their track record?
Anyway, as history has proven, the biggest world and regional winner of removing Saddam was a more empowered Iran. I hasten to think who would replace a wounded Iran. A more radicalized ISIS?
You tell me.

To Mr. Rudy Giuliani: Have You No Shame!
Yea, I said it... |
All is fair in love and politics.
And that:
Politics is a contact sport.
Got it.
Yet in still...
Even among the lowest of low bottom feeders in this mostly dishonorable profession, Rudy Giuliani has the distinction of being the scum de la scum (and I am being kind -- no really I am).
Rudy G seems to thrive on being the consummate and designated jerk in whatever room he enters. He will say or do anything to bring about attention. So much so, Rudy's kids have been known to cringe when pop grabs the mic -- that is when they are not shoplifting.

Malcolm X: "Our Own Black Shining Prince"
Brother Ossie Davis spoke these eloquent words of homage -- almost 50 years ago -- at the funeral of El Hajj Malik Shabazz -- aka Malcolm X.
Malcolm X
Born: May 19, 1925
Assassinated: February 21, 1965
Here—at this final hour, in this quiet place—Harlem has come to bid farewell to one of its brightest hopes—extinguished now, and gone from us forever.
For Harlem is where he worked and where he struggled and fought—his home of homes, where his heart was, and where his people are—and it is, therefore, most fitting that we meet once again—in Harlem—to share these last moments with him.

Grammy Report: Kanye pulls another Taylor Swift?
Getting Swifted |
Just when you thought it was safe to watch a music award show again, Kanye strikes once more.
Who can forget his mic grabbing 2009 MTV awards rant at the expense of Taylor Swift for winning best video over Beyoncé?
"Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!."
At this year's Grammys, the overbearing man-child had another Taylor Swift moment -- well almost -- when this time Beyoncé lost album of the year award to Beck

Teachers fired for teaching African-American history at Howard University Middle-School?
If a race has no history, if it has no worthwhile tradition, it becomes a negligible factor in the thought of the world, and it stands in danger of being exterminated.

Made In Africa: Three Cars Designed And Manufactured In Africa by Farai Gundan for Forbes Magazine online
According to the World Bank, Sub-Saharan Africa is projected to remain one of the fastest growing regions in the world.
While Africa’s economy is soaring past most regions with an annual growth of about 5% due mainly to increased agriculture production, infrastructure investment including transportation, ports and energy as well as buoyant services led by tourism, telecommunications and financial services, the continent’s middle class is expected to swell to approximately 300 million people.

Chris Wallace BLASTS 'Dicey Politics' Of Netanyahu Sneaking In To Address Congress
"Why can't we be friends?" |
Why?
Fox news disses GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner for inviting Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- on a sly-tip -- to address Congress without following protocol of notifying the White House.
First a lil background info:
New England Astericks? Facts don't lie.

Is the epic success of Bill Belichick and the New England organization forever tainted?
The Belichick era track record speaks for itself:
The Patriots were aided by the highly controversial Tuck Rule (one of the worst call in NFL history), Spygate; and now Deflategate.

Paris mayor: "I may sue Fox News for reporting lies" Fox: "We legally can lie"
Fox TV News is back in the news. And yes you guessed it: They are in the news for distortion of news (nice way of saying lying) once again.
Fox, infamous for their right-wing agenda propaganda, is facing a law suit from Paris.
That's right, the city of Paris is upset about Fox reporting the fictitious story about no-go zones areas in the city:
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo told CNN Tuesday that she may sue Fox News because the network "insulted" the city with its coverage of "no-go zones" that are supposedly only for Muslim residents.

Ted Koppel: Fox News is bad for America
Yesterday I had the fortunate to bump into former Nightline anchor Ted Koppel -- a very warm, engaging and gracious man (I'm waiting for that new book).
As an fellow journalist, I consider Koppel to be the gold standard of this once honorable profession. Unfortunately -- on a national level -- he is among a dying breed.
With our feed the beast 24/7 news cycle, we have created space for far too many blowhards of all political stripes. These soapbox reporters have muddied the water and stripped away most of the integrity of the industry.
